Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about CleanerDesk: product capabilities, pricing, local-first storage, backups, delivery, and support.
A. Product & General Capabilities
CleanerDesk is a downloadable, local-first commercial business operations application designed specifically for residential cleaning business owners. It provides job quoting, Profit Guard margin protection, client management, scheduling, invoicing, payment tracking, and actual profit analysis in one organized desktop workspace.
CleanerDesk is built for residential cleaning businesses, new cleaning startups wanting structured pricing from day one, and business owners who have outgrown spreadsheets but do not want to pay $50–$150/month for bloated cloud software subscriptions.
No. CleanerDesk originated as an Excel concept during early development, but it was completely rebuilt into a standalone native desktop application for macOS and Windows. You do not need Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or Office 365 to run CleanerDesk.
No. CleanerDesk is downloadable, local-first commercial software. You purchase a one-time single-business license for the purchased version at the applicable price displayed at checkout (launch tiers from $49 to $99 USD). There are no monthly software subscriptions, no user seat charges, and no recurring renewal fees for that version.
No. CleanerDesk is commercial software. We do not provide cleaning services, take a percentage of your job earnings, or sell leads.
No. CleanerDesk requires zero coding or command-line setup. You simply download the native installer matching your operating system (macOS DMG or Windows Setup EXE), install it, enter your license key, and start quoting.
B. Pricing & Commercial License
CleanerDesk is sold under a transparent one-time pricing structure with progressive launch tiers: Founding Tier at $49 USD (first 10 licenses), Early Adopter Tier at $79 USD (next 30 licenses), and Standard Tier at $99 USD. Once purchased, there are no monthly software fees.
Neither. It is a strictly one-time payment. You will never be billed a recurring monthly fee or annual renewal for your purchased copy.
The Single-Business Lifetime Commercial License gives your cleaning business ongoing rights to use the purchased software version without a recurring software subscription. CleanerDesk is local-first, but initial activation and occasional brief internet access are required to verify that the license remains valid; between verification periods, the application can continue operating offline.
Your one-time purchase includes the full CleanerDesk application (v7.0.1) and all maintenance patches for this release. Major future versions with new architectural capabilities may be offered as optional upgrades, but your purchased version remains licensed without a recurring software subscription, subject to the license-verification terms described in the License Agreement.
The standard license covers one (1) residential cleaning business. If you own multiple legally distinct cleaning businesses, each business requires its own license.
One CleanerDesk license may be activated on up to four computers used by the licensed cleaning business. macOS and Windows installations may be used in any combination within that four-device allowance. You can deactivate an old computer before activating a replacement if all four slots are in use.
C. Quoting & Profit Guard
CleanerDesk supports six distinct pricing methodologies: Square Footage, Bed/Bath Count, Flat Rate, Hourly Billing, Room-Based Pricing, and Hybrid combinations.
Yes. All pricing numbers are completely configurable in Business Settings. You configure your own base hourly rate, square footage price per foot, add-on costs (inside oven, windows, fridge, pet hair), deep cleaning multipliers, and minimum job charges.
Profit Guard is an internal margin simulation engine that calculates your estimated cleaner labor pay, owner compensation baseline, cleaning supplies, and travel expenses to evaluate your net profit margin before you send a quote to a client.
No. Profit Guard provides operational estimates based strictly on the wage rates, supply percentages, and overhead allocations that you configure. Realized profit depends on actual on-site job performance, unexpected property conditions, and actual business expenses. CleanerDesk does not guarantee profit.
Yes. CleanerDesk automatically calculates Weekly, Bi-Weekly, and Monthly recurring plan rates and displays them side-by-side on your proposals to help you secure recurring contracts.
D. Clients, Jobs & Scheduling
Yes. Client records include customer names, phone numbers, email addresses, service addresses, property details (sq ft, bed/bath), pet notes, and Property Access Notes.
Property Access Notes store practical on-site instructions such as front gate codes, key lockbox combinations, alarm keypad steps, parking rules, and trash disposal locations so your crew knows exactly how to enter and service the home.
Yes. CleanerDesk includes recurring cleaning cadences (Weekly, Bi-Weekly, Every 4 Weeks) that advance automatically upon job completion.
No. CleanerDesk is focused on residential cleaning operations. It does not include live GPS fleet tracking, driver speed monitoring, or complex route dispatching.
E. Invoices & Payments
Yes. Completed jobs can be converted into professional printable PDF invoices complete with itemized services, applied add-ons, sales tax, and payment instructions.
Yes. CleanerDesk tracks full payments, partial deposits, outstanding balances, payment dates, and payment methods.
No. CleanerDesk is operations and management software; it records and tracks your customer invoices, partial payments, and payment methods (such as Zelle, Venmo, check, cash, or your own card reader receipts). It does not directly charge your customer's card or hold customer funds.
F. Data Storage, Backups & Privacy
CleanerDesk is local-first. All client records, quotes, jobs, invoices, and settings are stored locally on your personal computer in the desktop application's dedicated user data directory. Zero customer data is transmitted to cloud servers.
No. CleanerDesk does not transmit your operational customer data, phone numbers, addresses, or quote details to Ravi Kumar AI servers. Your records remain strictly on your personal device.
No. Because CleanerDesk runs as a standalone desktop application on your computer, clearing your browser cache, cookies, or history will not delete your business records. Regular backups using the built-in export tool are still recommended to protect against computer hardware failure.
CleanerDesk includes a built-in one-click backup tool in Data & Backup. You can export a .cqbackup file in seconds and save it in a local, external, network, or cloud-synced folder such as Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, or iCloud Drive.
Yes. Supported builds of CleanerDesk include optional AES-256-GCM encrypted backup exports protected by a private passphrase that you choose.

Simply send an email to [email protected] with your purchase name and transaction reference, and our support team will promptly verify your order records and reissue your license details.
I. Refunds & Dispute Policy
Because CleanerDesk is downloadable digital software that cannot be returned once digital download access has been granted and the software has been downloaded or installed, change-of-mind refunds are generally limited once download access has been granted. However, we review every request fairly.
Refunds are promptly issued for duplicate charges, unresolvable download/delivery failures, or verified technical defects that our support team is unable to resolve within a reasonable timeframe. Please review our full Refund Policy for details.
J. Support & Updates
You can contact founder Ravi Kumar and our support team directly by emailing [email protected].
Your purchase includes technical support for software installation, launching CleanerDesk, data backup/restore guidance, and bug fixes for v7.0.1.
K. Security & Safety
No. We avoid hyperbolic marketing terms like "military-grade vault." Property access notes (gate codes, lockbox pins) are stored as local text records within your local desktop application storage. If you share your computer with others, we recommend using CleanerDesk's Local App Lock feature in Settings.
L. Accounting & Taxes Disclaimer
No. CleanerDesk provides operational cost tracking, invoice logging, and mileage recording. It does not calculate statutory payroll taxes, prepare corporate tax returns, or replace a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Always verify tax deductible mileage rates and tax filings with a qualified accounting professional.
